Well hello! I know, it’s been a while. A very long while. And so much has changed over this past year. Don’t worry, I’m still here and still a photographer, but just in a different place.
These past few months (past few years, really), have been full of so many big life changes, and I’ve been meaning to make this post for MONTHS now, and I’m finally here. We’ve had so many life changes over the past couple of years and with welcoming a miracle baby (surprise!) and with her, new priorities in life, we made the decision to leave California for…
Texas!
I know, California born and raised and moving so far from the coast?! well – If you’ve ever booked a session with me, you know we’ll be starting in a park or nature preserve everytime, I love being surrounded by trees and nature. But I’m happy to shoot you on the sand at sunset, of course.
We’ve been here for a few months now and have definitely felt the warm welcome you hear about from Texas (we have yet to experience anything else when we say we’re from California, but we’re ready for it:) ). The first week we were here, we were met with so many ‘welcome to Texas’ sentiments, neighbors (who we hadn’t met yet) driving down the street and waving as we walked by on the sidewalk, and one of our core memories; our neighbors girls’ stopping by with handwritten welcome cards and a plate full of treats.
I feel like there is so much to say, so much I want to say, about what went into this move. I could write pages about how we got here, and how it felt like everywhere we turned – we were being pushed to make this move. So much Faith went into this decision, and we listened.
It was such a huge decision, for our family, our lives, my business, my husband’s business of 16 years
But we needed this, and we welcomed it and all the changes that it brought (and will bring).
. . .
Of course, we’ll be back to visit SoCal, and plan to be back for family session season. However, if I don’t see you in front of my lens for your next session, thank you SO much for trusting me with your memories and seasons of life. I am forever grateful for all of my families, seniors, brides, and mama’s-to-be. <3
