Julia Maternity | Private Estate Maternity Session

My big sister found out she was pregnant with her 3rd, a few months after her 2nd baby arrived. She and my brother and in law were super excited and were doing something a little different with this baby.

They decided, since this is the final baby for their family –  they weren’t going to find out the gender. ‘A baby surprise’ my sister would call it…which makes me think of casserole..so…moving on

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I don’t know how she did it. She really had no idea either way and didn’t want to know until that very moment when the newest baby made his or her debut. But, this pregnancy was quite different. Julia is and has always been a major water drinker – she drinks a ton! But! no matter how much water she had, this little baby wanted more. So, we had only but to assume it’s was a girl. Which was an easy connection for me to nickname her…Renesmee. Had to be a girl, right? Neither of her boys gave her this much trouble!

Yes, we are both Twilight fans. And yes…we are both beyond our teenage years.

Moving on! So, please take a peak at the baby surprise…

and now, an action series, presented by Coen and Carter. The two little guys being….little guys.
a wall of ivy as a backdrop? Yes, please.
My little nephew is a superhero. Of course, but you knew that, right?
Driving back from our spot, we were able to pull over to take advantage of the amazing light. I love these. Love.
Danee Colby came along on this session in preparation to launch her business soon. You might remember her from a session I did years ago and a recent wedding she 2nd shot for me. Well, she’s going to be a photographer and we’re eagerly awaiting her launch!
I had to get a couple behind the scenes:)
Coming up soon? The newest ‘S’ family addition! What will it be?!

Hi. These pictures are beautiful. Where were they taken? I’m a San Diego based photographer and I live the scenery. All spots. What did she end up having?

    Freezing time

This little guy turns 5 today.

Oh, how I wish I could freeze time.

But I know he’s growing and he’s only going to get bigger, and will soon tower over me. I’ll no longer be able to pin him and tickle him, and I’ll be looking up to talking to him instead of down to a little boy.

For now, he’s frozen as Robin. As my little bug who is obsessed with super heroes, in love with his mom,  mr. energizer bunny, the main reason I keep Angry Birds on my phone, and wants to be just like his dad.

And I will be showing this and many more pictures to his first girlfriend one day.

After all, what kind of Aunt would I be if I didn’t embarrass him a little : )

Love my bug. Happy Birthday <3

    Julia

Absolutely love this! I’ll share it will him, he will too!

Sarah & Justin Married | Carlsbad Beach Wedding

I met Justin and Sarah one afternoon at a nearby Carlsbad cafe. Just two of their (now) four kids were there. Sarah was in bed all week sick, but was able to get out of bed for our meeting (So glad she did!). A few things your should know about this couple? Aside from Sarah being one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and Justin is a crack up….between the two of them, they have 4 kids.

    Those 4 kids?

    2 sets of twins.

Ha! No really! Justin has two little guys, and Sarah – a boy and a girl. They were all a part of their ceremony and each received a small gift from their newest step-parent. If there’s one thing you see in any of the images below, it’s completely evident love and happiness.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Justin and Sarah Freeman…

I might be obsessed with Sarah’s vintage bling

such a beautiful and classic veil

The guys having a great time just a few minutes before the ceremony. Justin cracks me up, there are so many shots of him jumping and laughing during these moments.

the guys decided to do a little prayer before the ceremony, and the girls had their moment as well:)

Justin had a gift for both of Sarah’s children, and vows as their new stepdad.

The boys were thrilled with their gifts, as you can see – look at that face:)

Then, while Sarah was saying her vows as their stepmom, this sweet moment happened. Completely on his own, he just jumped in her arms and stayed there.

It’s Official!! Mr. and Mrs. Freeman!

We literally had 5 minutes to shoot down on the beach and I was SO excited that Justin and Sarah were up for it. It was SO bright, but I’m in love with what we were able to picture.

I wish I could post all of the dancing and reception pictures to show just how much fun and laughing there was this day.

Thank you Justin and Sarah! I was honored to a part of your amazing day!

    Big dogs

The first time I set foot on the ranch, I met Darcy. She walked my dad and I over to her horse Cabernet and her new baby Bella. I’ve always loved animals, but this was something new and I’d never been around this many horses at one time before, or rather, this big of a dog.

It didn’t take Cabernet very long before she decided to enjoy a little bath. So, she knelt down, rolled over, and with all 4 legs up in the air, swivelled and wiggled back and forth on her back in the dust. They’re just big dogs, I thought.

I was in love, and cautious all at the same time. Cautious, not because of the actual horses, but rather because the girls I knew growing up that had horses weren’t always the friendliest, and at that point – that was my only point of reference into the horse world. I didn’t want to ever take for granted what it would mean to be around such amazing animals, so when I was given my first horse Aslan –  I tried to take in every moment I could.

Aslan was the tallest (17.2), friendliest, and sweetest boy ever. He used to race and therefore always had to lead whenever we’d go on a trail ride, or anything. He insisted on being first, even if we didn’t know where we were going.

Some days we’d just walk around the ranch, some days I’d take him to the very back corner and then take off in a full gallop to the other side, and other days we’d just walk around his stall. I’d lay on his back and talk to him, and wish how I had a camera to help remember those days. I wish that even more now, I don’t have many pictures left of him, but I do have this one. This is in his older years; one might call it his retirement:)

There’s nothing like being on the back of a horse, it’s one of the best and most free feelings in the world. It’s the only real ‘sport’ I participated in when I was younger…But if you’ve ever seen me try to catch a ball, frisbee, pair of keys, or any other flying object – you’d be able to tell. I’m not so graceful:)

I’m only coordinated in the sports world when it involves an animal that’s taller than me and weighs in at over one thousand pounds. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way:)

    Happy Wednesday :)
