If you follow me on Facebook, you might know I kind of love watching Criminal Minds.
No, not because it’s creepy and weird and makes me want to put bars on my doors….and loved ones (yes, bars on my loved ones). But, I love the people and their relationships, and I love psychology. And I’m so fascinated by Derek and Penelope’s relationship. Does anyone else understand it?
Ok, anyways…
Each episode ends with a quote. I heard one the other night that I just loved and I had to share.
“Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.” — Cyril Connolly
I loved it, and thought it so perfectly applied to blogging!
Which brings me to Jasmine Star, once again
. I find so much inspiration from her when I hear her speak or read her blog. She has the right idea on so many levels, especially when it comes to blogging and writing. Too many times we start to lose sight of what we love, and we can easily start to blend in. We stop learning, growing, and challenging ourselves.
We forget and love and get too wrapped up in what everyone else is doing. When, the key to being successful is simply being true to you.
Which is also why I’m integrating my life into my business, here on the blog. Because, how else can we get to know each other before we meet and become great friends!?
And then we can look back and and laugh at the post where I mentioned Jasmine Star, Criminal Minds, and a garden all in one!
I’m posting this quote to share and also to remind myself why I’m here and to do what I love. I love reading the stories of how people met, about the photographers, about their families, why they chose a certain location for their shoot, how the kids were loving all the attention, and of course – the proposal stories![]()
I believe it’s only natural that good things will come to you if you stay true to who you are and what you believe.
And because every post needs a picture! Here’s a shot from a few weeks ago of my newest garden purchase. She’s called the ‘happy trailing vine’. I loved the name and the colors, so we’re training it to grow up the side of the house.

Happy Thursday!
